Hello Friends!

We are back in Austin! The wedding was wonderful, and it was so good to have so many of you there with us. Jason and I kept saying how much we really enjoyed it (and are glad it’s not just a big blur). It was awesome for all of us to worship together, and we are so happy to now be husband and wife!

Alaska was awesome…cool weather, tons of light, sea otters, and much more. Cheryl and Sed, our gracious hosts, completely fixed us up. We stayed in their apartment, ate the food they stocked for us, and drove their car! As many of you know, Cheryl made us an amazing quilt for a wedding present with messages from lots of our friends and family as well as scripture stitched into it. We are truly blessed.

In Anchorage, we mostly hiked, biked, and just enjoyed the weather and daylight for hours on end.

We also took a half-day cruise out of Seward which was beautiful. God blessed us with lots of rainbows too.

When Cheryl and Sed joined us, we headed to Homer where we spent the weekend in a seaside cottage. We went kayaking in the bay one afternoon and got to see a couple of sea otters up close and personal…They are adorable!

Coming back, Jason and I were afraid we were going to be bumped off of our flight because it was overbooked, but God was so faithful and we were actually put in first class…lots of great food and leg room! We got back into Austin this past Tuesday morning (July the 19th), opened tons of great wedding presents, and then set to work on the apartment. It was a little overwhelming at first, but now things are coming together.

On August, 31st, we will be heading back to Tyler, TX to do a year long School of the Bible with Youth With a Mission. We’ll be doing an in depth study of major doctrines of the whole Bible as well as learning some Greek. We feel this is the next step God has called us to in order to prepare us for ministry. During the school, we will have two one-week outreaches in America (teaching at a church and shadowing a pastor to learn more about full time ministry). Once our classes end in May, we will be going on a month long foreign outreach to teach what we have learned (possibly at other Schools of the Bible). We are excited to take this next step in God’s calling on our lives.

It’s three days to the big date!

Derek Knighten, my Web Master, is teaching me (Jason), his humble student the art and science of web logging.

My mother and sister are in town from North Carolina for the week, and soon many more friends and loved ones will arrive to support in taking “The Plunge”.

Derek's Entry:

Jason and I have been designing JasonBeth.com for about…, well, about since the 14th of June. We are just now about ready to start adding blog entries into the main section of the web page - I haven’t taught Jason how to do this yet.

Jason has to work a 12 hour shift today, and I literally do not have anything at work to do because business is so bad. With me moving back to Dallas in the middle of July, and Jason getting married one week before my move, time is running out for us to finish the web site - before both our lives change to the extent were we won’t have time to work together on the site anymore- it is weird that about a year ago Jason and I, by pure happenstance, moved to the Austin area about the same time, and we live about 5 to 10 minutes away from each other (which is closer than when we lived as kids in Midlothian) - so, I have his computer for the day, and am trying to move the site as far along as possible without the presence of Jay.

To test the workability of the site, I decided that I’d add this quick blog. I may lengthen it as the day progresses, but that is doubtful…

Time lapse: Thought I'd add a picture taken from my apartment, just for the heck of adding a photo, and for memory purposes.
