Our Vision:
To inspire, teach and
disciple the nations
in the truth of God's
Character and Kingdom.

Hi Friends!
It’s
hard to believe Joshua is 3 months old today! What a
fun age this is! He is now smiling, cooing, holding his
head up, making eye contact, and coming close to rolling
over on his own :). It truly is amazing how fast he
changes. It’s fun to see him surprise himself with the
different high pitch sounds he can make. He loves
experimenting with his voice now. We love him more each
day as we get to know him better. Although he’s always
been precious, it is so much more fun to interact with
him these days. He recognizes our voices and follows us
with his eyes. Even baths and diaper changes are much
more enjoyable now. We love to tickle him and watch him
giggle while he’s on the changing table. He is
currently attempting to put his whole fist in his mouth
and hasn’t quite found his thumb yet. I am hopeful that
he will be sleeping through the night soon! Right now,
he wakes up once or twice a night, but I am definitely
getting much more sleep than in the beginning!
On a funny note, we are local
celebrities :). The local newspaper wanted to do an
article on the lactation specialists at the hospital,
and for the article they wanted to interview a new mom.
So I was invited to share our story. It was great to
encourage other moms that if nursing is hard at first,
they still can do it! I’m always happy to share with
others what a huge blessing the lactation specialists
were to Joshua and me. The photographer came to our
house for pictures, and the article turned out to be a
full page Sunday story :). very fun!
Joshua is gaining weight
beautifully these days. He weighed 11 pounds 9 ounces
at his 2- month check up and hasn’t been sick at all.
It’s great to see him outgrowing clothes :).
My moms Bible study has been such a
treat. There are now 4 of us reading a Joyce Meyer book
on the fruit of the Spirit, and it’s been wonderful
sharing our hearts together as we relate with mommy
highs and lows.
Jason takes Joshua and me to lunch
at the school cafeteria now. It’s a blessing to have
that daily social interaction.
It’s also been fun having our
families so close, so they can see Joshua growing and
changing in person.

Hey folks,
I hope you all are doing well. It
has been wonderful for me these last three
months, being thrust into fatherhood. Before Joshua was
born I was a little afraid of what was to come, not
knowing what life would be like after he was born and
not knowing what being a father was all about. It has
been amazing how natural a transition it has been. That
does not mean that it has always been easy, but it has
been a great experience.

In
The Classroom
School of the Bible (SOTB) has been
going very well. I have had the opportunity to teach a
lot on Old Testament history. For instance, I taught on
Solomon
and how he started so well, with humility and a heart
after God like David his father. God blessed him
mightily, gave him great wealth and allowed him to
build the temple and enjoy a time of peace that David
never experienced. However, because of his love for
foreign women and taking many wives his heart was turned
away from God and he allowed foreign gods to be
worshiped in Israel. Therefore, God had to bring
judgment, splitting the nation into two parts, the north
and the south. The south remained under the rule of
Solomon’s lineage because of God’s promise to David.
Greek
Greek class has gone well this
year. Being my first year teaching this subject, it has
been a challenge and I have learned a lot through this
experience. I joke
with my class that they are my “guinea pigs” and that
next year’s class will be much better off. Even still,
this class has persevered! We are now done with all of
our lessons and the students will begin translating the
book of 1 John using the Online Bible program.
Understanding the grammar of Greek used in 1 John will
help bring clarification to what John was really
communicating to those who would receive his letter.

I would like to introduce you to
Kisa! He is from Papua New Guinea and has set aside one
year of his life to dig deep into the Word of God here
at School of the Bible. Kisa has been learning so much
while he has been here. He told me that God is
transforming the way he thinks. We all have some
misconceptions
about God and the world and that’s why Paul says in
Romans 12:2, “And
do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by
the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what
the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable
and perfect.”
After Kisa is done with all of his
training, he feels that God has called him to work with
young people. More specifically he wants to minister to
orphans and troubled kids, to give them hope and show
them the love of God. Kisa has the heart of a father
and I know that God will use him powerfully. Pray for
him as he prays about where God wants him to live and
minister. He would like to go home to Papua New Guinea
and he also has a heart for Indonesia.
I am always very encouraged to
hear what God is doing in the lives of our students!
“How
then will they call on Him in whom they have not
believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have
not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?
How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is
written, "HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING
GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!" Romans 10:14,15
Until next time,
Jason and Beth
